Update on Alex

Dear Friends,
This page will be updated as information becomes available on Alex's condition.

Friday, 12/17/04: Alex made the trip back home safe and sound and he is doing well. He appreciates your concern and well wishes. A number of folks are chomping at the bit to talk to him, but he requests that folks hold off calling for a while longer. He will handle e-mail and other tasks as he is up to it. Alex is currently planning on broadcasting on Monday 12/20/04 at the normal time, although he is not likely to resume to the normal broadcast schedule yet. Thanks!

Tuesday-Wednesday, 12/14-15/04: Alex was released from the hospital but remained in Las Vegas to complete required blood work before returning home. Obviously the experience was taxing on him, he is in excellent spirits and is doing very well all things considered. The outlook is very good for a full recovery without complications. He is now on his way home as of Wednesday morning. He extends special thanks once again to all whom kept him in their prayers and extended their talents of healing to him. Alex will be doing a show tentatively on Monday 12/20/04.

Monday, 12/13/04: As of 6:00 PM Mountain time, Alex was dressed and was preparing to be released from the hospital. He will need some blood work done before he returns home some time tomorrow. Ardeth will chauffeur him; so, it will be several days before he is back home.

Sunday, 12/12/04: As of approximately 3:00 PM Mountain time today, Alex had gone 36 hours without an erratic heart beat. Currently the outlook is very good. If his current condition remains the same for an additional 24 hours he likely to get the ok to return home. :)

Friday, 12/10/2004: Alex is still not out of the woods and needs your continued prayers and support. To enable you to direct healing and loving intent in a specific manner; you should know that the upper two chambers of Alex's heart are not yet keeping rhythm correctly. The chambers are reluctant to pump correctly which allows the blood to remain in the chambers for too long a time, causing Doctors to be concerned about clotting as well as an irregular heart rate. So, as you direct your thoughts of healing and prayer; what needs to happen is that the upper chambers return to pumping correctly, fibrillating correctly and the overall rhythm does not fluctuate. For example currently the heart rate may go from X number of beats per minute to either a much higher or lower number of beats. When the chamber pauses or is non-responsive the blood is then held there for a longer period than it should be, which puts him at risk of the blood coagulating. If the blood coagulates/clots and flows to his brain, his life could be threatened. In other words our thoughts of healing may specifically be directed toward the healing and permanent correction of the cause of the erratic rhythm problem related to the two upper heart chambers. Alex is on anti-coagulants; he is fortunate to be at one of the best cardiac care centers in the U.S., where he found himself as a matter of COINCIDENCE as this health challenge befell him. He considers himself blessed on many fronts especially for your loving thoughts prayers and active healing work that you are sending his way, which he is both aware of and grateful for!

Love,

Alex - Ardeth

Thursday, 12/09/2004:  Amazingly the doctor could let Alex leave as early as tomorrow, if, his heart rhythm has stabilized. He sounded quite chipper.

Alex asked that the following note be included in the updates:
There is consensus among the doctors and all involved in his case that; what occurred with regard to his condition and the successful and speedy recovery is nothing short of a miracle, an absolute miracle!
So thanks to all who prayed and sent loving healing energy.  Alex is a testimony to the success of such good and loving intentions.
Special thanks to one and all,
From Alex & Ardeth

Wednesday, 12/08/2004:  I received an update on Alex this evening.  Everything went as planned with no complications.  The doctors did not have to do by-pass as they were able to remove the blockage and do the angioplasty.  The surgery was delayed a couple of hours due to unrelated scheduling so I got notified of the success later than expected, causing concern on my part (silly me!).  Please continue to pray that there are no future complications and that Alex has a very quick recovery.

Tuesday, 12/07/2004:  Ardeth made it to the hospital about 9:30am Tuesday.  Wednesday, Alex is going in for another angiogram on the artery that caused the heart attack.  They will try to fix it with angioplasty but if not they will open him up and do a by-pass.  Please continue your prayers as it's going to be a very worrisome, stressful day for Ardeth.

Monday, 12/06/2004:  I spoke with Alex this morning right before he went in for an angiogram and possible angioplasty.  He was in good spirits.  I spoke with him tonight and they had done angioplasty on three arteries and have another one scheduled for Wednesday.  His back is in a lot of pain because the catheter is still in him and he has to lay flat on his back and not move so it doesn't tear his artery. Other than the back pain he seemed in good spirits.

Sunday, 12/05/2004:  Alex is in intensive care. He was attending a business meeting over the weekend and suffered two heart attacks.  I don't have any details yet but I will keep you posted as I am updated.
